Caution:

  • Users must please be cautious when operating roller shutters.  Colliding with an obstruction can cause damage resulting in unnecessary and costly repairs.  We always recommend that roller shutters be operated within view to prevent accidental collision.

Thermal overload protection:

  • Tubular motors are protected via a thermal overload.  Continuous usage may cause the motors to stop.  The motors will become operational again once the motors have cooled down, this process may take up to 50 minutes.

Remote controls:

  • Roller shutters are usually operated from a wireless remote control.

  • Should a remote control be lost or stolen, we recommend a complete reset of the motor that the original remote control is deleted and the replacement controller is paired and programmed.  This should be carried out by Shutter Masters staff or an approved agent.

  • Key Pad remote control code changing will require a site visit to reprogram the transmitter accordingly and should only be carried out by authorised, trained personnel.

General
guidelines to help

Cleaning:

  • Your roller shutter can be cleaned with cold water and ‘sunlight’ soap.

  • Please refrain from using ammonia-based cleaning agents as this may affect the powder coating.

  • Guides should remain dirt-free and debris-free.

Routine Maintenance:

  • Your roller shutters are maintenance-free and require only general cleaning as needed, however, in some instances mechanical bearings are installed.  These bearings will require greasing periodically.

Manual Override:

  • If manual override is included with your shutter, please be careful to NOT OVERWIND the shutter curtain.  Should this occur, contact our offices immediately before operating the motor as serious damage to the shutter can occur if the curtain is incorrectly rolled.

  • Please note that manual override is only operational from the “safe-side” of the shutter.  We suggest that you store your manual override handle in a safe, easily accessible place within close proximity of the shutter, on the “safe-side”.

  • MANUAL OVERRIDE OPERATION SHOULD ONLY BE OPERATED WHEN POWER IS OFF.
